Default First N20 Tune, Need Timing Help

Short Story - 99 LS1 Camaro, Tqr 2 cam, bolt-ons, Th400, Before the Th400 it made 392/362 NA, 29 degrees of timing.

I am in the process of building a Nitrous setup and Tune for my car but I am not understanding something.
Things I think I understand: (please correct me if I'm wrong)
1. Ground Strap tells me heat range of the plug
2. The plugs base ring is the jetting
3. Porcelain determines preignition/detonation

Things I don't understand:
1. So how do I know if I have enough timing or it's too much? (porcelain maybe)
2. I was thinking about starting at 20degrees for my N20 tune (spraying 150rwhp) and working from there. All fueling needs will be controlled by the N20 jetting.

Just looking for some basics to get me started, any help is greatly appreciated!
Andy

blue heat mark on strap needs to be on the curve. if on the tip of strap-advance your timing. if at the base of strap-retard your timing. 26 degrees is what i ran with 150 and 200 shot.

What is you timming NA. Lets say 28 degrees is the na then for a 150 shot take -2 degrees for every 50 so your timming would start around 22 degrees for a 150 shot run a # 7 non proj plug. BR7EF NGK PLUG. Make sure you have a aftermarket fuel pump in tank in your car to.
The plug will tell you alot on what to advance your timming or fuel. Its always better to pull more timming out then start putting it back in slowly. Read your plugs. Im currently running a 250 shot @14 degress of timming and A/F is at 11.4

My NA timing is at 29 so I figured I would start at 20 and work my way up or down. I am running the BR7EFs at .34 with a Racetronix 255 ad Hotwire Kit.

that makes sense, kind of what I was looking for. I like the "if this happens then do that" type aprpoach.

Thanks for the help!
