Talking Some New Nitrous Dyno - On new PP/TSP set-up

Thought I would post this since there has been so many questions/concerns on the PP heads and TSP 231/237.

Just finished installing this week. Half dozen heat cycles, but no real street time.

Some of the new mods: PP Stage II heads/TSP 231/237 598/595 112/+2, Mez EWP, SVO 30# injectors, RaceX in-tank F/P, TSP ported oil pump, and a bunch of suspension/clutch mods. Left over from the previous set up: Moser 12-bolt, 4.30 gears. Dyno was run on 28x10.5x15 ET Drags. No tricks (don't know any); exhaust - none to speak of - true duels with bullet mufflers to a dump before axels.

Previous dyno #: 331 rwph; 338 rwtq; 100 shot: 435 rwph; 507 rwtq

Today: on the engine: 412.3 rwph; 377.0 rwtq; 100 shot: 512.3 rwph; 563.8 rwtq (only 700psi on bottle - cold out today)

Needless to say I am very please. Just think if I had a stock rear-end, with 342, with stock tires? What is that like a 10-15 - maybe 20 - hp loss.

Thanks to TSP - Brian and Jason (great tune only need minor changes) and to my local guy - Joey - for putting it all together. I have only had minor idle issues, but absolutely no smoke - not even one little puff.

I don't have the ability to publish the dyno sheets or the awesome video. Track time: as soon as the tracks open (April 24th )

Thanks

David

Was that on a Dynojet or Mustang dyno? Either way, Very Nice!!
I've been wondering what my setup'll run when I get it together in 3 weeks. Lots of the same mods, or close: TSP race heads, same cam, ported LS6 oil pump, Meziere, ASP, Racetronix intank, Lucas 37# injectors, Jet Hot Headers w/catted Y pipe, Borla w/QTEC cutout, NOS 5177 kit. Unfortunately stock a4 with 2.73 gears though
This gives me a good idea of what mine will do soon

Again, congrats on the numbers

Dynojet.

I think you are going to be very pleased with your numbers. The new TSP race series heads and cam are doing great. Through stock 2.73 you get better numbers.

Are you going to have Jason at TSP do your tuning. He is great to work with.

Good Luck

David

I'd love to, but 1500 miles (24 hours driving) is pretty far to go for a tune. I'll probably have to have it done locally (ie. within 6 hours driving). But I'm chompin' at the bit for it to be done and dyno'd

I live 1200+ miles from Jason also. I bought the LS1Edit. Downloaded the PCM. Sent it to Jason. He "tuned" it and sent it back. Uploaded into the PCM. It will need to be fine tuned, but the basic is there. You could also just sent the PCM if you don't want to actually buy the LS1 Edit program - although I would highly recommend it. It takes a while to learn the program but well worth it.

Call him at TSP. He is great to work with.

I have LS1Edit & EFI Live. I do some of my own tuning, but this many changes is too much for me to tune and still do good with it. I'd consider e-mailing the flash file though. If you don't mind me asking, roughly what does it cost to do it that way, I couldn't find any info about it on their webpage.

I would call them. I got my tuning as part of the head/cam package. 806-866-0734

The kool thing is that he will do follow-up tunes as need be. E-mailing files are quick.
