Engine done..Need a converter who should I go to to spec something?
My engine is done and now I need a converter so I can put the engine in the car. I have dealt with Coan Racing for awhile now but I don't know how there converters are going to be with my setup. The last time I talked to them about an EFI car, they spec'd out a 2800 converter and when I yanked it out and threw in a 4000 stall it was faster on motor and N/A.
I have been leaning towards Circle D or FTI for my car but I see that Yank is the choice for alot of street guys. I just want to make sure that I get somebody that knows what I want out of my car and not spec me something just to get my money.
Coan has done me good on all the transmissions I have bought from them over the years and I have a nitrous converter from them that is a bad *** converter. It has worked flawlessly but it is for a carb'd small block. I don't think they take in consideration of the weight of the street cars I have built.
So, basically I just need a few of you guys to recommend me a good converter company that is going to give me what I need.

Got a call from FTI and went with them. He explained everything of why I needed the converter the way I needed it and what would happen if I didn't get it done that way.
I'm the kind of person that likes to pay for something once and Greg said "you won't break this" so it will be the only converter you buy. So I was sold and he gave me a good deal off the regular price.

I would call Circle D. I went from a Percision Industries Vigilante to a Circle D Pro Stage I after the Vigilante cracked after about a year of use. Circle D had great customer service and a great product.

Greg is hands down awesome. He makes some DAMN good and efficient converters.
In my old turbo car I was getting 5% slip at the 1/8th! Running it out the back would of only lowered that number more.
Greg knows what he is doing for sure.
I do have a Circle D in my car now, and for simplicity sake I let Chris update it when need be, but if I ever have to buy another one I would have a hard time not calling Greg for what I need even though lately I have been wanting to try some of the other converter companies out there like UCC(Have always heard GREAT things about Lenny and he is local to me) or Pro Torque(not to be confused with PTC).
Seems like every world record setting radial car nowadays runs a Pro Torque, PTC, or UCC converter with Coan, Chance, ATI, rounding out some other popular choices.
