Question Opinions

hey guys i just ran into a nice chunk of change 3 g's, and i wanna go faster,of course. my mods right now, :
2000 Camaro SS A4
3.73's
home porting polishing maf and tb
all free mods
lid
bmr panhard
bmr lca's

Now this is what im looking for, 400 rwhp n/a, 500 w\ n20

i dynod with what i have now at 326hp and 339 tq
i drive my car almost every day probably around on average 15 miles a day, sometimes ill go on 150 mile trips, occasionaly.

now my idea to get there was:
pacesetter lt's no cat y pipe

3" cutout in I pipe, keeping stock cat back

MTI SSf 3500 or sf3000 (Im a little worried about going with the 3500 because i dont know if it is very streetable, plus im not totally understanding of the stall speed deal, if iam at a red light and am driving normally when i start to move am i not really going anywhere till im at 3500rpms? i dont understand the concept.)

GM Hotcam( i know its not the best but im looking for a little lopey idle, and i wanna be able to spray 100-150 shot. Also when i do a cam swap what else do i need to get it done?springs retainers etc...?)

Hand porting and polishing and cc the chamberson stock heads( my dad has sone this before so i should be ok with that! what kind of gains should i see?)

NOS or TNT or any other dry application(i need obviously the convertor and cam to work well with n20)

Walbro intank fuel pump (What size, or do i even need one?)

30# ford injector (needed???)

Lowering the rear end 1" (to try and get some traction)

15x10 Nomad II's (jegs and summit )with M/T et streets(will those rims fit, also what size tires are best??)

Ls1 Edit(what should my...Shift points, and tuning for n20. Is there anything else that should be done?

Is there anything you guys think i should change, i know alot will say different cam, so im open for suggestions, IM open for ANY suggestions and thoughts you guys might have. ive been researching this stuff for weeks now but theres just too much stuff to think of and its getting a little confusing so i figured i would ask you guys, after al ya'll are the experts.

Thanks guys and gals

Wow, you have alot of questions.
1. Your exhaust idea is very good.
2. Stall speed is just you holding the brake, and hitting the gas. Your car will be fairly docile even with a bigger stall. Ask around. I have a huge stall (4400) and I dont recommend it for a daily driver.
3. Thier are so many good grinds on the market, that also come with pushrods, springs and retainers. You can do better then a hot cam.
4. Home port and polish? This is too hard to say. Your still limited by valve size. You could always mill your heads as well.
5. I prefer a wet kit (NX or TNT) I had a dry kit, and it was a yawn. NOS rates thier dry kit at the flywheel. You spray 100hp your lucky to get 85hp.
6. I would recommend a bigger fuel pump Walbro 255lph intank (NOT INLINE!)
7. I think a set of SVO 30lbs injectors would be good insurance against leaning out the motor.
8. Don't lower anything! Get adjustable shocks, and keep your stock springs out back.
9. Those wheels will not work. The only thing that will work must have a 7.5 backspacing for that size rim. You will need spacers, extended studs, and have to grind your calipers to clear the wheel. Or you can order a set of Bogart wheels, which are the only true drag wheel that is correct for a 4th gen.
10. Run a 26-28 inch tire depending on how you gear the car. I run a 28 X 12.5 on a set of Bogart D-10's. But I had to adjust my inner fender to get those tires to fit.
11. LS1 Edit is only good if you also have a datalogger such as EFI Live or Autotap. It is a useful tool, but it requires alot of cash outlay for both software programs and cables, plus a laptop. Diablo would be another option, or HP Tuners new software.

Okay I answered your questions. Wanna hear what I would do?
1. Headers with a cutout
2. Stall converter (Yank/TCI/etc.) 3200-3600 stall
3. Drag Radials (BFG are quicker and Nitto last longer)
4. NX or TNT nitrous (100 shot max unless dynotuned) NGK TR6 spark plugs.
5. Diablo Programmer

Finally I can give my biggest piece of advice, take your time and do alot of reading. Concentrate on traction first, and power second. Why go for 500hp if your on a suspension that won't hook for ****. Or build all that huge power only to have your car spit out the rearend gears in a dozen pieces.
