Default Nitrous bottle position

Hey guys, was just wondering if it matters how you position the nitrous bottle when you mount them? I have seen them laid down in the mounting brackets and i have seen them standing straight up. Are there any advantage's to either way? Can only certain bottles be mounted straight up? Any help/advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance....

It all depends on where the pickup is inside the bottle.

Most bottles have the pickup in the bottom of the bottle, so they like to be mounted with the tip of the bottle facing the front of the vehicle with some angle. You don't want to uncover the pickup tube.

The main thing is orienting the bottle so that the nitrous is directed toward the pickup tube when the car is launched. On our valves, the nipple faces opposite of the bottle valve. Were you thinking of mounting the bottle a certain way? Maybe I can give you some advice on mounting it.

Thanks,
Garrett

Thanks for the replies. I was thinking of standing it up so it didnt take up so much room laying down is all. Like i said, i have seen them go both ways and didnt know if only certain bottles could be stood up. This is an edelbrock kit if that matters. Thanks again for the help...
