I take it your talking about big cubes and spray?

I think 95% are still hydraulic. Thats the beauty of big cubes and spray...you could have a mild manner, good idling car that makes 500 rwhp NA....then spray the crap out of it with say...a 200 shot. Now you have plenty of power.

I am doing a solid lifter setup now.
383 ci
Kick *** new TEA raised floor heads (see post in internal)
Custom matched Wieand intake
Cam picked out by Allan Futral: 259\271 .729"\.714" 114+4
Custom Kooks 1 7/8 stepped to 2" headers with 3 1/2 collector
up to 350 shot in multi stages

holy crap! Wish you had a 400 or glide though. Curious what you'll run...be sure to post pics/video!

I would think 422+ cid/hyd rollers w/ nitrous would easily be nines (given the rest of the drivetrain is ok). DERTY has a SR (i think) but only 382cid....didn't he go 9's first time out?

My first full pass on spray off the trailer with a 200 shot was a 9.77 on a well prepped track. My motor is a solid roller 382, so I'd consider that middle of the road cubes these days. With a cam that is significantly smaller then 383LQ4SS's cam .

A few guys are able to crack into the 9's pretty easy with something approaching a 400 cubic inch setup and a 200 shot. That's on a hydraulic roller setup. It's definitely done with an automatic though. Very few manual cars at all are even in the 9's using this sort of setup. They're out there, but it certainly is not easy to obtain. Just ask Futral how many attempts he had to make!

only nines, i was hoping to hear some people were at eights.
with a 430ci something and a mild cam how much do you guys think someone would have to spray to get to the low nines, weighing about 3500 lbs

200 to possibly 300 shot. Depends on if you are a automatic of manual. There are many C5 422's running 9's on the spray. MajorSpray ran low 9's with a automatic C5.

I plan on going mid 9's or maybe low with the set up I plan on building.
