Default so....how much would YOU spray?

I'm getting an MTI 347 shortblock with forged flattops and rods (10.5:1), stage 2 heads, 224/224 .581/.581 114 cam,LT's,ORY, RAM powergrip HD, 12 bolt (373's), full tune.
What's safe?
What's extreme?

Thanks!

Safe - 150hp shot
Extreme - 300hp shot

Realistically, anything to do with NOS is only safe if you have a fail-safe pressure switch for fuel. Not many people run them but it's advisable. The other
thing you can do is constantly check your system and ensure it's running correctly. This means checking the fuel pump for exact pressure, checking/replacing the filters (you should have 2 or 3 in-line if it's a wet system), and checking the solenoids monthly for proper operation. I usually check mine prior to every use...make sure the solenoids click when power is added. That's the basics...I gotta run to the track now and get some racing in.

Oh, a few of my friends are doing the 300 shot on stock longblock Vortec motors and going 10's ...hahaha.

Welcome...yea, I thought I was ballsy spraying the Monte with a 210 shot (cheater kit) but you can actually spray a motor almost to it's limit or size in cubic inches. Another buddy of mine has a 632ci motor in a Rail Car that he sprays with a 500+ shot Pro-Fogger. Needless to say, he runs in the 6's...makes me sick. Before I put the turbos on the Monte, I'm going to try and work my way up to a 300 shot. I'm guessing I'll either break an axle or get kicked off the track (no cage).

I got a similar setup. I'm going to buy jets for up to a 250 shot and see how it goes.

Depends, are your pistons nitrous specific or just forged pistons? I would say 250-300 on a properly setup system with good and dependable fuel delivery. 350+ with stronger pistons.

They're Wiseco flat tops. I don't know much about them. Not sure how many cc's the valve reliefs are either. I guess that would help, huh? I'm getting a Walbro intank and 30# injectors.

One of my co-workers brought up something today about nitrous noids that bothered me.. He said what if it sticks wide open? What do you do? How often does this happen and what can you do to prevent it? I had no answers for him..

If one sticks you are pretty much SOL! Hopefully you can shut the car down before it blows. Just remember if that does happen and you get the car shut down in time that you now might have a motor full of nitrous that needs to be cleared out before you start it back up. You can always take them apart to inspect and clean them. And I guess from time to time rebuild them. But other than that there's not much you can do.

One thing that I have done on my dry systems that i have used in the past is run two nitrous solenoids in line. If one sticks, hopefulley the other one wont. Thats also why people run inline filters, It tries to prevent trash from entering the noids causing them to stick open. Even on wet shots you could always run two in line, little more expensive, little more insurance.
