Default Quick update - 9.948 @ 138.4

Nothing dramatic to report since previous post when I finally broke into the 9s. Improved a little on the 9.95 with a 9.948 with 138.4 mph on a 1.47-60 ft. Car runs dead consistent now with no drama! I'm going to go from a 28 inch M/T Drag Slick to a 28 inch M/T Pro Bracket Drag Radial (on back-order). They say I can pick up 3 mph and that they hook, even on iffy tracks. Not much tread left on my existing tires but I'm going to go up to a .099 jet on the weekend to see what that nets me. Likely start with a .045 fuel and total of 13 degrees of timing. I'll post results and plug pics.....

Nice work. 9's are no joke. You should be proud of that.

Thanks! That represents a journey of almost 10 years, 3 motor re-builds, 3 tranny re-builds, and countless other suspension and Nitrous upgrades. Was it worth it - Heck Yah!

.093 and .043 jets at 14 degrees of timing

Old M/T Drag Slick (28 X 10.5 @ 12 psi)
1.475 6.40 110.22 9.948 138.23 1/8 to 1/4 at 28.01
New Pro Bracket Drag Radial (28 X 10.5 @ 16.5 psi)
1.536 6.40 111.43 9.941 138.10 1/8 to 1/4 at 26.67

Interesting early results on these new M/T Pro Bracket Radials. Picked up 1.21 mph in the 1/8th. As per numbers above - even with a worse 60 foot by .061 still ran my fastest E/T to date at 9.941 verses previous best 9.948. I think I'm going to really like these tires when I get to a better prepped track. I did find they gained 2 pounds pressure on the burn-out so I'd start at 15 cold. I could not try the .099 jet due to a tranny issue. Somehow the line-lock got engaged at the starting line and I launched against it on the 275 shot....next pass OK but following pass I could tell something a-miss with a shudder. Loaded it on to a flat bed and could see tranny fluid pouring out of the tail - hopefully just a seal.....
