Default Nitorus Window Switch Set Pointrs for BIG STALL

OK Guys I am spraying 100 shot NX dual nozzle on My 01 Vette soon. Need some feedback on setting my window switch and I have a few ideas.

Basic Car Info

- Yank SS4000 Torqe Conveter and a MSD Digital Window Switch.

-Nitto DR's

-My Shift Points are at 6,500

-Yank SS4000 Shift Extentions are approx. 5,250-5,300

-Stock Tranny

-3.42 Gears

I was thinking of maybe setting to Lower Limit to like 4,500 and Higher one to 6,300. The reason for the lower one If I brake stall it to about 2,500, by the time I punch it and get a little traction, the tach will be at 4,500 pretty quick, so if i set it to turn ON at 4,500 I will just start to possibly gain a little traction and then the nitrous will hit at 4,500 and start to haul *** up to 6,300..

Now when I shift to 2nd and 3rd my Shift Extentions on my Yank SS4000 are HIGHER than 4,500 (they are approx. 5,300) so after the initial nitrous hit at 4,500 everytime it shifts it will drop down to only 5,300, which is OVER the turn On point on the MSD of 4,500 rpm's anyway and will spray as soon as it shifts since it will never be below 5,300 due to the shift extentions of my converter.

I am cutting the OFF rpm Point 200 RPM's before my 6,500 shift just to be safe.

I have all the safety stuff, MSD Window switch, NX FPSS, NX TPS Switch.

Hell with my Big Stall, after 1st gear nitrous hit at 4,500 rpm, I will only spray from my shift extention (apprx 5,300) to 6,300. so that is just a 1,000 rpm spraying window in 2nd and 3rd.

What do you guys think about that 4,500 ON Point OFF point etc etc?

I think both your ON and OFF settings are good, solid starting points. I would try things exactly as you have planned and see what happens. If you get good traction with the ON point set at 4500 rpm, try lowering it 100 rpm increments at a time until you lose traction, then bump it back up one increment. I would leave your OFF point, 200 rpm before your shift point, right where it is.

FWIW, my settings are similar to yours only based on my setup, launch technique, and SY3500 converter. I launch from an idle, flashing my converter, so my ON point is set at 3800 rpm. My shift point is 6400 rpm, so my OFF point is set at 6200 rpm.

Steve,

What does the Nitorus "Feel like" when the Nitrous Hits at, in your case, your 3,800 Turn On Point? Is it is Hard Hit, is it VERY notciable, or is it more of a gradual increase of power?

Then what does it "Feel Like" at subsequent shifts, like in 2nd and third?

Just curious...........

I am pissed because I dropped my car of Tuesday and it has just sat there because they are so busy. All I needed was to replce a tranny cooler, hook the bottle back up and spray on the dyno.

Oh well, good things come to those who wait, and I sure the heck have waited for this nitrous. Hell, it has been ON?IN my car for over a month now and I still haven't used it due to all the reasons you know (motor blown, tuning, etc.)

Thanks

Gary

It doesn't hit incredibly hard at 3800 rpm, but you definitely know when it does. Nothing gradual about it, it's just there. After the 1-2 shift, it feels to me like being pulled down the drag strip/highway by a super-powerful, super-fast winch, very unlike an FI setup which feels like you are being pushed from behind.

In a word, it's exhilarating!

Thanks Steve. I look forward to the Exhileration

I can always set it to come on earlier, when I am feeling brave/Rich (New Tranny ) like at 3,000 out of the hole

I look forward to it and it was nice going through our nitorus journey together, you just got there a few "Years" (it seems) before I did!

Gary
