Default Nitrous/Propane Dyno

I dynoed my 96 Viper GTS tonight with my new nitrous/propane kit I only have the first stage hooked up so far. I run 48/40 (nitrous/propane) roughly a 175 shot worth of nitrous. Baseline was 450/502 and on the hose 661/882. My problem is the car is running very lean. It starts at 14:1 and goes to 13:3. The graph is very smooth even with smoothing on 0. I've tried running 40/40 and 40/48. AF is always with in .3 of eachother. Power definatly falls off with less nitrous but the AF stays the same. I will make some more pulls tomorrow and add fuel with the computer through the injectors and see where that gets me. I want to run alot smaller first stage, so I guess I will leave the fuel the same and just run alot smaller nitrous pill. BTW its a twin nozzle setup.

Are you saying you run 48 n2o and 40 propane in each of two stages. because that jetting is a 80/100hp hit depending on application. Are you heating your bottle to 85*, because that is the temp/pressure (140/160psi) of nitrous for this jetting to have proper a/f. Higher pressure equals richer mix. The 85* NOS brand thermastats used in their heaters is just right.

can you post the graph with the AF.

Have you seen this wideband function correctly before?

Try a much larger jet on the propane side just to verify you have control with the fuel jets and that there isnt some flow problem somwhere else along the line. Like a 48/50. DOnt be afraid to add some propane. Get that sucker rich first and then back it off with the jets.

Have you verified fuel pressure?

I only have 1 stage hooked up. I had the 48/40 in 2 nozzles not 4. I don't have the heater hooked up yet so I was just putting the bottles under hot water. The propane was at 155psi and the nitrous was 1050psi. I don't think I have control over the propane as I tried swapping the pills and running 40- nitrous / 48- propane and AF stayed damn near the same. When I was tuning it on motor the AF guage was functioning properly and reacting to my changes to the ECU.

Sounds like a propane delivery problem, maybe a restriction in the system somewhere....Add more propane like 383 suggested (try to make it rich as hell) if you dont see the car get richer, you know you have a restriction in the propane system.

The weird thing about it is the guy that he bought the kit from made less power and was way richer with the same nitours and propane pills. Even when this guy upped the nitrous pills he always kept the propane pills at 40 and he was always way rich.
