Default Is Low DCR Good For Nitrous?

Would a lower dynamic compression ratio lower risks of detonation thereby allowing you to run more nitrous? THey say the ms3 cam needs compression to get the most out of it but on the spray it makes strong power and torque.

Not sure, but I thought DCR relates more to amount of octane needed per application? I do know manipulating the quench height can net you a more detonation free combo. I am running my 347 with a tight quench for street/strip use, .030" QH, but with 11* valves I actually have more clearance than a stock angle setup. Will be watching this one for learning purposes.

Thats what I mean. If a lower DCR means you can run less octane would it be more resistant to detonation when on spray. Allowing you to spray more nitrous and still be safe?

Detonation and amount of spray are only related by octane requirement and spark. What I mean is, although you could run a lower octane, thats for the same sized shot as before....e.g. if you tuned your combo for 92 pump and 24* spark with 150 shot, then you may be able to run 8x pump and 24* spark with same 150 shot. If you arent getting detonation then try upping the shot, although I would up the octane just like I do on any combo, test and tune, or trial and error. Does this make sense?

Low DCR wil kill your low end torque. I would just build the motor for NA and then just spray it. I would not try to adjuct DCR to accomodate for spray.

Best of both worlds with the proper octane and timing.

Yep, aggressive timing and high compression can be ran provided there is enough octane in the fuel. Its all about octane and timing.
