Default How long does it take your 15lb bottle to heat up? Is my heater weak?

I have had my NX bottle heater since 1998, probably not to many hours on it since I didn't really use it a whole lot untill the past 2 years, but latley it seems to take forever to heat that thing up to temp- 45mins. to an hour with a blanket.. I was trying to think back when I first got it and I don't think it took that long...?

How long do bottle heaters last..?

i throw mine in a bucket of hot water and the temps rise real quick(couple mins to 1050psi).10lb bottle i do this for some quick test runs near the house instead of waiting longer for the heater to do all the work. usually ill just turn it on while im driving to where i plan on going and its up to temp by then. your heater may go bad over time and they sell replacements so its not like you need to buy everything all over again.

A 15bl bottle will take a while do to its size. A key trick if you are not in a place you can run some hot water over it is to use two heater elements. Test your heater element by placing your hand on it. It should be hot to the touch. Not enough to burn you but to hot to leave your hand on it very long. If your bottle was low it may take that long but on a full bottle I do not think it should take that long.

Mine is probably ok then.

Hot water is a good trick.....
What I was doing around the place here during testing is turning it on and putting the battery charger on the car until it warms up. I know when I drive to any track around here it is an hour plus so I turn it on half way there or run the heat in the car in the staging lane helps also, but I sweat my ***** off.

Just checken if they....died out slow....

Me too. My bottle heater SUCKS. It's not really a heater but a maintainer. I get the pressure where it needs to be with a hot bucket of water for ~10 minutes before I go out, and then leave the heater on it. I just don't really use my n20 enough to invest in a new heater.
