dry kit, a 100 shot dry is the way to go.
i run the Nitrous direct pro dry on my 03 z06, and its great. do some research, we have a bunch of people here selling stuff, so just look around and make a choice from there.
but dry is the way for you to fly.

Your car came with 26lb injectors so keep in mind you will be limited to how high you can go on the hP gain. If you decide to add a cam in the future expect to upgrade injectors.

Check out our Dry Halo system.
Its the best dry system on the market..

We also have a competetion series dual nozzle dry kit with teh same accessories the Halo has but uses two nozzles.
Both are 499.00

If going wet the most common system is a single nozzle system. However if you want more of a custom look check out our plate system.

At this time all of our systems are made using NX parts. So they all comes with NX lightning solenoids.

I personally would run the Nitrous Outlet plate system. Check out May specials. We have not posted new specials but we will honor last months.

how is the install? Would a backyard mechanic be able to tackle something like this? Would a tune be required?

You're getting some good info here. The dry shot would be the best choice for ease of install. Just remember when you get hooked the 99 injectors will have to be changed.
