Default spraying on forged 402???

my new 402 is in the process of being built. i was spraying 100 shot on my stock bottom end, and blew the #7 piston. so the spray has me a little worried to say the least!!

did i make the mistake of going with the aluminum 402 rather than the iron block?? please tell me ill be ok?! should the block hold a 200 shot?

motor consists of:

forged eagle crank
scat H rods
forged manley dish pistons with hellfire rings
11.x : 1 compression
absolute speed stage 2 heads
texas giant

i want to dyno a 200 shot on the car, and run around town with a 100 or 150 shot. the car is a daily driver, and i cant afford to blow up this new motor. probably only spraying 2-3 times a week if that.

im paranoid about the whole "forged" thing....someone convince me ill be ok!?

oh yeah, that will most definatly hold a 200 shot. Just make sure your fuel system is adequate, and you have a good tune

"most definatly" is exactly what i wanted to hear!!

ive already purchased the racetronix setup, and will be setting that up as soon as it arrives!

jeremy formato is a buddy of mine and will be doing the tuning!! so dont have to worry about that aspect!

racetronix will not be enough lol

I have their fuel pump kit with booster. I make in the 530-550 range on motor

On a 175 shot, i see a significant drop in fuel pressure. I don't think i can spray anymore than that...

It's on to new, bigger and better things.. like a dedicated system.

With the setup you are talking about the racetronix probably won't be enough.

If you are looking to spray more then a 100, I'd look at a dedicated setup. You could always fill that tank with good fuel too, to help prevent detonation.. a little added safety. You don't have to have a dedicated to be safe... just with a single racetronix pump and a 402, you will be pushing the envelope. A dual racetronix setup would probably be plenty if the dedicated isn't something you want to do

thanks for the info on the fuel. ill def. look into my options.

i was more interested in knowing if the internals and the aluminum block will hold up under such a big shot??

Just get a return and reg system at the rails and you will be good for 700rwhp. Likely the reason for your unstable fuel pressure is having reg at the tank area. Cheaper and easier to go this route than a dedicated. Just a Racetronics and a hot wire kit is good to 600rwhp with return at rails.

A stock long block will hold up to the shots you are talking about, if set-up correctly (tune). With J Formato doing your tune you will be fine as your set-up can surely hold a 200 shot no problemo.

I"m sure the internals will be more then fine, I know of people that have been spraying 250+ on alum blocks for a LONG time, block has never been the cause of a failure.
