Curious I want to know what a gen1 sbc and bbc can take....

well say hyper pistons stock steel crank, and decent set of rods? race gas ect..

I would say 125-150 with those pistons. If it had forged pistons and good head gaskets 200-225.

Depends on what your set up is. If the small block is a 355 with stock block and forged pistons a 200 shot shouldn't be a problem. The big block is a little more forgiveable with nitrous. I have seen as much as a 250 shot on hyper pistons in a big block as long as you don't lean it out to much. With the small block you have to consider the strength of the block its self as well as rods. With the set up you listed above I wouldn't go above a 150 on the sbc and about a 200 on the bbc unless you really know how to tune your nitrous set up.

I have sprayed 300 on federal mogul hyper. pistons. The cheap $150 one's. It's all in keeping up with your timing, and fuel. Make sure you have your ring gaps set also.

Hyper - 50 - 200hp ( Around the 200hp mark is the limit )
Forged Non Nitrous - 50 - 250hp ( you can possibly spray more but I wouldn't )
Forged Nitrous - 50 - 300+ ( depending on what is specified at the time of order )
