Default Nitrous Solenoid Bad? 5.8 @ 109....

Got my license today which is great, but ran into an issue.

First pass off the trailer on both kits, 1.35 60 foot on the back tires.....hard wheelstand. 3.7 in the 330 foot, then got out and shut the car off before the 1/8 mile. Smashed the SYA bars a good bit. Got to the end of the track and found that my first stage nitrous solenoid was stuck open (NOS pro shot fogger).

Pulled the plugs at the end of the track, everything looked ok.

Grab my slip, and then we swapped solenoids to another racer's pro shot solenoid (it looked rough, but it's all we had).

Go back up, let off the brake, and the car bogs a little bit then the second stage kicks in. The first stage is not coming on, so we checked all wiring and eliminated the window switch....problem never went away all day.

We checked plugs, everything....

Has anybody had a pro shot fogger solenoid go bad or not work correctly?

I'm going to swap solenoid and rewire the nitrous AGAIN, but I really think it's a solenoid issue.

You can test the solenoid itself by wiring it, then listening for clicking. If it doesn't click then the solenoid has something wrong with it.

I know.

Wiring - wise, we are good to go. Solenoid clicks just fine.

However, is there a possibility of restricted flow in a solenoid due to being worn, clogged, etc.

I am really looking for Nitro Dave to jump in here - I should have just shot him a PM haha.

Have you pulled the solenoid apart to check it out? You could have some seal damage, or something stuck on the plunger.

Conrad,
Thanks for the call today. Let me know how she runs when you get the bugs worked out. Looks like it is going to fly..
