Default ORR Cage requirements?

Questions for Bill, Boyce, and Mark mainly. What are the requirements for a 10 point roll cage? Are they the same as a 10 point drag cage, or does it have to have thicker tubing, etc. I want to know what I would need so that I could do drag, orr, or events at pacific raceways. Thanks guys.

10 pt? Damn son, you're planning to run that fast?! A 6 pt is all that's required for "normal" cars. What you're talking about is the unlimited class. You really gonna take your Vulva into the 9 sec drag / 200mph ORR bracket? **** me....

But the only difference that I am aware of for ORR is the diagonal cross brace going from the drivers head area of the top bar to the floor on the passenger side. Other than that an NHRA bar will pass ORR specs. Have Don do it for you.

Actually you only need a 5 point bolt in roll bar to be legal up to 10.00. If you plan on running 9.99 or faster, you'll need a 6 point weld in bar.

Well I'm not planning on sub 10, or 200+, but I'm planning to survive if the car rolls going 100+mph, and I think another couple bills is cheap insurance for bracing the a-pillars and roof above my head.. Thanks Mark.

You are spending $ to protect THAT head?

The bars that Art Morrison makes, as installed by Don, with the daig bar will pass both.

So Art Morrison bends the cages? Is he located in Everett? I was planning on welding the bar in myself and cutting and notching it for final fitment at the end of the summer after I have some more experience welding. Just found out my uncle has an assortment of welders, including an expensive TIG welder.. Can you say sheet aluminum intake? w/ LS1 throttle body of course!
