Not Again
**** ME!!!
When I took the s/c off last night to get it ready for the bigger pulley I found a bunch of nicks, dents & gouges in the impeller blades. What it injested, or where it came from is a mystery. So I need to take everything apart & try to find this. AND send the unit in for repair.....AGAIN!
The only good news is it didn't come apart. As flexible as those blades are, it certainly could have. I'll try to post some pics later.
Bottom line, beware the Avi tonight.

I just got off the phone with ATI & Bob @ EPP. ATI told me it would be $760 shipped.....and another 4 week wait. And then they asked how big the dings were. Seems they have seen several cars (I imagine on real race cars that don't run air filters) with BAD damage to the blades that ran fine. Until the balance went south taking the bearings with it.
Bob pretty much said the same thing. And they both said, "Well, you could just run it this way & send it in at the end of the season." Unofficially of course. The alternative is to race without the blower. Or put it on a car-show-only-diet for the rest of the year & race Linda's car. (gotta die from sumthin) What a glorious week this has been.
As for a Vortec Howard, the only difference is then I'd have to drill a hole in my oil pan. It's the exact same design. As is a turbo (with some MINOR exhaust duct modding). I think I'll take up knitting like Rey has.
