Default Parts!! **Venting**

What is it these days? I am running over a month behind schedule because of PARTS!! Either they get back ordered or they never come or they send the wrong ones.

Take today. Things SHOULD have went like this.

1. Install TH350 In CAT3s old car and send it down the road all happy

2. Swap out Converters on a Trans Am

3. Pull Term Cobra apart so I can get the parts ordered.

4. Finish 4L65E build and deliver.

SO we have been waiting weeks to finish the TH350. It has been a month since we started it. We were originaly supposed to get a new Part for it. A vendor talked the owner into trying to Modify the original part so we were sat back time to have that done. Then it was lost in shipping. Well not lost we were given the wrong address. It sat in the same town for a week till we found it. So a week goes buy and we finally get the part, A new part because the old one could not be modified. Go to install it and it is the wrong part!!

So now the lift STILL has the same car stuck on it and it can not be moved easily so I can not even Start number two and three The Vendor is being very helpful but we are still stuck not making any progress on that lift.

I have to wonder if I will ever make any progress as this is the umpteenth project this has happened on this year

SO needless to say at this rate I will NOT be racing this year. It seems no matter how much time a Schedule for a project Parts are biting me in the *** EVERY time.

Maybe I will have time to work on my car next year?

As I said in the title I am just venting. It kills me to go through this EVERY damn time I start a project!

Well I am sure it is not intentional but the chain reaction it has is un-controlable.

Its been a huge problem this year and it started in January, more vendors were back ordered than any other time and it hasn't stopped since.

After this round you need to put your car first and work on others later. That way its done with only a little bit of tweaking needed from time to time. Or you could say ta hellwidit and just start working on it anyway - you know everyone is going to wonder where it is this year if you don't.

I wouldn't. I'd rather have you out on the track with us, and if it came between my car and yours... I'd wait. Seems like it would really suck to be busting your *** to keep everyone else's cars running good and not get to drive your own.

I chase that problem all day at work. I have the task to not only put in orders but to bug manufacturer's for status of our parts, and we never know until the last minute. So we end up having a near million dollar machine in the floor of a building that can't be shipped because they are short a $50 part most often it seems! Not like they can disasseble it or just move it to the side either, so now they have 20+ guys standing around doing nothing really other than trying to find work to be doing.
