On a side note, my car is on the trailer, headed to Costco to get some nitorgen in the tires, then over to Ellis' to get the seat mod. (someones FAT head won't clear the roll bar so we had to modify the pass seat frame )

WTF???

What happened? I'm eager to hear what he ran. Did anyone see how he did? Did he even show up and run his car?

I will let Don post his results, but I did see his maiden voyage, and got a couple pics. Was only there for a minute though, so his best time?

So how did he do? Don don't seem to be around to post. I know he was looking for 9's.

The car was AWESOME!!!

I made 6 passes just trying to break things in and not break anything. First pass off the trailer was was a foot brake start with and just eased into it while watching gages;

1.911, 11.835 @ 118.79

Tiiming was set to 32 BTDC - VERY conservitive. Everything felt and sounded fine. I did have some oil blowing out of the top of the oil tank so I tie wrapped some towels to the vent to catch it.

Next pass was on the T-brake and WFO the whole pass;

1.624 11.415 @ 118.85

Pretty consistant speed and everything worked great. Kicked the *** out a little on the shifts because the SS trans shifts so hard. Still having an oil issue - big mess.

Next I added 4 more degrees of timing to something a little more reasonable. The motor REALLY liked that!

1.601 11.122 @ 121.80
1.678 11.147 @ 122.41

Now we're gettin' someplace! Unfortunatly this was as good as the track was going to be for the rest of the night. The ricers were systematically removing all the rubber from the starting line and there was a bald spot from where my tires were all the way to 10 feet in front of the line.

Next I started lookin for a good shift point. I had been shifting at 7200 like I did with the old motor. Since everything that moved inside this one was new, I should be able to move the shift points up. It turns out 8200 is just right.

1.637 11.086 @ 122.66
1.700 11.170 @ 122.37

All in all a great night. Tomorrow CCC at Bremerton!

11.08....NICE! Too bad you couldn't get more traction Don. It would have been nice to run a 10 before you turned the bottle on. It's certainly there by the looks of it.
