Default should i do it?

Ive been thinking of painting the rear valance on the rear bumper of my c5 black, kinda like the t/a guys when they do the ceta mod. so anyways i was thinking of a regular gloss black and some clear but I dont know what grit sand paper to use or what primer? Also what grit sand paper should i use afterwards to wet sand it and what not? ive been thinking if i should just take it to the body shop that repaired and painted my roof (black) and have them do it but it looks like a really easy mod to do that i think i rather save the cash and do it myself.

If the finish is in good shape you will not need to prime it. You can sand it with 400-500 grit if you using basecoat then apply the base. Do not sand the base before you clear it. If you need to buff it use 1500-2000 grit wet dry and a med compound like 3m 6011 or something comparable to that. If you have any questions give me a call or pm me.
