it actually depends a lot on the type and quality of paint you're using... as well as the prep work you have done.. any info on that?

..you using single stage? basecoat/clearcoat? a good quality paint? an inexpensive paint? what color? are you using a sealer? what color sealer? what kind of gun are you using(some guns put out a lot more material than others)?

Thats a question that can not be answered online, we need to know way more details about the paint. ie: are you painting just the outside of the car? door jambs? trunk? under the hood?
What is the mix ratio of the paint? what type of paint? etc.
Ive painted just the outside of a 4gen fbody, with as little as 3/4 a gallon, and as much as 2 gallons. How much paint used is dependent on the painter, and the paint they use, and the condition of the body being sprayed.

here's a quick very general breakdown... if you're using a good 1:1 basecoat.. two quarts of paint is usually enough to do just the outside of the car. If you're doing jambs/under hood/etc... might want to bump it up to 3 quarts of base.. but like innovative said... if your painter hoses it on.. you might use more.. might use less.. there are a TON of variables in how much paint to get.

err on the side of caution.. and get more than you think you'll need
