Shipping hood
I just ordered a hood from VFN. Bolt-on WS6, 25 lbs. Has anyone shipped one of these hoods to the mid-atlantic recently (Maryland to NC)? If so, what was your shipping cost. I forgot to ask VFN about what it will cost.

Are you shipping a new hood?
If so, it will vary from what our costs would be on shipping.
This is because we ship on a daily basis and are able to negotiate a discount of 65% with the freight companies we use.
If it's shipping from us, I can gladly give you a cost - but I would need to know what state it is shipping with.
If it's something you are shipping on your own...I recommend checking with a freight broker such as freightquote.com - as they can compare rates with most companies and this will give you the best possible deal without having a discount with a company.
The only thing that I strongly suggest...is wrapping the hood as much as possible, wrapping the corners, etc.double wrap, plus use cushions on the ends and fasten the hood into the box so it does not shift around....
or have them pack it...if that is an option.
They tend to use companies such as roadway, fedex, overnight, etc...
which have a quick turnover on freight (transit time) but generally bounce the freight around as well.
Going with this company, I'd estimate freight between $140-180.00.
Hope this helps!
