I do body and paint work on the side. If you get someone that knows what they are doing the aftermarket should be even nicer then the factory, but you will pay for it. As far as painting just one body part, ( bumper cover) as long as the car is'nt faded it should be just fine to blend.

I was tring to find out how well the after market paint would hold up as far clearcoat and such.
I would like to have the front bumper cover painted I noticed the other day it starting to get minor spider cracks.
Does anyone know what the procces is for removing these?

To repair correctly, the cracks need to be sanded down all the way to the plastic, then cleaned and plastic primed. After that you do your regular prime and block and prep. Then begins the paint process. If you don't sand the spider cracks out all the way, they will come back. Paint durability is mostly in the quality of the product. It does not matter what people say, The cheap paints, clears, and primers are cheap for a reason.
