Plasti-Dip FAQ (yes, I typed this myself):
- What is Plasti-Dip?
Plasti-Dip is a [temporary] spray-on, dip-in-a-can, or brush-on liquid that when dry, turns into a removable rubber coating. - What colors does it come in?
Plasti-Dip comes in various colors - the most popular of which being black. Available colors are: Clear, White, Blue, Yellow, Red, Black, and CUSTOM (mix-your-own). - What does it look like when it's dry?
When dry, it has a matte/satin finish. The thicker the coats, the greater the texture it has. - Why should I use it?
You should use it to create temporary appearance changes. Its greatest advantage is that when you don't want it, you simply peel it off - causing no damage to most painted/bare surfaces. - What can I use it on?
You can use it to temporarily paint wheels, black-out emblems, create "ghost" designs on your vehicle, or for simple things such as color-coding your tools or using it as insulation for electrical projects. - How long does this last?
That depends on the method you use to prep it. Following the easy removal prep, it can last anywhere from 2 weeks to 3+ months. With a more aggressive prep method (adhesion promoter, sanding, or other prep similar to regular paint prep) it can last 4+ months. Complete coverage of the item you are spraying is key to making it last. Once an edge peels, not much can stop it from peeling. On my car, I painted the top of the exterior third brake light over a year ago, and it still looks the same as the day it was applied. - Where do I get this stuff?
Most local hardware stores carry this product, such as Home Depot, Lowes, or Ace Hardware. If they do not carry it, they may be able to order it. If not, you can also purchase it online from various online stores. - Has somebody painted their whole car with this stuff?
Yes, somebody coated their Infiniti G35 with this and posted the results in two places. Here are the relevant links which have pictures, videos, and tips:

UPDATE: It has now become very popular to do a whole car, thanks to DipYourCar.com, which seems to have a market hold now for automotive related Plasti Dip sales.

Application Tips
To make removal as easy as possible:
- Wash, claybar, polish, and wax any painted surfaces before applying Plasti-Dip.
- Wash and dry any other surfaces before applying Plasti-Dip.
- Hold can 5"-6" away from surface.
- Apply at least 3 medium coats of Plasti-Dip. The thicker the Plasti-Dip, the less it tears up when peeled off.
To make product last as long as possible (this is likely to cause permanent damage to the surface):
- Prep surface with sandpaper, adhesion promoter, and/or general wax & grease remover before applying Plasti-Dip.
To make a clean edge:
- Mask off everything with easy tape removal in mind.
- Apply 3-5 medium to heavy coats with about 10 seconds or less between coats, then very carefully (but not too slowly) peel tape off before Plasti-Dip is dried.
