Default Help painting rear fascia on C5 Z06... tape question.

I just bought a C5 Z06 and want to paint the lower rear fascia black. I have painted things before, did the CETA on my T/A but with the exposed body line on the corvette I'm worried about how it will look. What would be the best technique for taping off that lower section? Just try to follow the body line the best you can with the edge of the tape or is their a secret?

I just used masking tape and tried to follow the edge the best I could on my FRC. Came out pretty good. The hardest part is going around the curve on each side.

mask the car up and follow the lines as best you can, but stay an 1/8th inch or so away. then use fine line tape to follow the line perfectly. when done painting pull off the fine line asap and the edge will "melt " in a bit, gives you a bit smoother line that way rather than waiting til dry. just my$.02
