Default Powder Coat question

Okay i'm getting rims that are powder coated black, I would like to have a polished lip. What is the best way to do this, and will I mess the wheels up? Can you clear over black powder coat

you could but theres no reason to because when they get powdercoated get them done in a gloss finish. is the lip already polished? if so they can just work around it. i think your best bet is try putting this in the wheel and tire section because lots of guys did this with their torque thrust 2s
