Sandblasting fiberglass?
Hi everyone,
I'm thinking about sandblasing the paint off my car. It seems like a quick idea but I don't know if it's a good idea? Any suggestion on medium to use and procedures? I'll be doing each body piece one at a time.
Thanks,
Chris

correct, its the only blasting media that will work on glass (actually its SMC) without heating it up and tearing through it. it can get expensive to do, chances are you would be better off sanding it down with a DA sander especially if your doing it yourself. check out http://www.eastwoodco.com/ itll give you a run down on soda blasting and how much the media is gonna run you

More detail on technique, equipment, etc. please? Just for the fiber glass portion if you don't mind. Have a new sodium/media blaster and used it on an old corvette for a little but seemed like I may have been pitting or dimpling the glass and maybe taking off the gel coat..
