Default Code P0401

Getting a code after I cut off the EGR tube that ran into my intake manifold to make room for my fuel line. I assumed the EGR gizmo that the tube ran into from the intake manifold was an air pump and pushed air to the CATs, but perhaps I was wrong. Maybe it really does make use of the air flowing through the manifold to force air into the exhaust. Am I wrong in assuming I'm going to have to reconnect this tube to the manifold to eliminate this code? (I can clear it with my EFILive, but it just comes back).

Egr does not pump frsh air to the cats that is the job of A.I.R pump that is located in the LF on the car behind the bumper and the A.I.R tubes connect on the manifolds. You need that egr tube that goes into the manifold. Reconnect it and make sure there are no leaks.
