Default Question about throttle lag at WOT...

I have a question regarding tuning an A4 car or truck.

When I floor the throttle in my truck the engine stays lazy for a second then hits wide open throttle and responds. My truck has an XR259 cam and an I6 TB stall in it plus shift kit.

Is there any way to lessen the hesitation and have the truck into full timing advance sooner?

I'm not used to EFI tuning and have someone locally tuning my truck. The torque management is off and overall I'm happy with the tune. How can I get the same response that my carb'd vehicles had when the timing and advance were spot on?

What tables have to be adjusted to get rid of the hesitation? Is it a kickdown feature in the tranny?

Thanks in advance, I'm learning every day.

good question ^^^ yea cable operated usually "feels" like it gives a better response and the electronic throttle bodies are usually "lazy" like that, either way you look at it both cable and drive by wire seem to be hesitate somewhat as opposed to a perfectly calibrated carb setup. Thats what i can give you from my experience anyways... good luck on finding the solution, post up results if you do =)

It's normal cable actuated TB.

I'll let you guys know how it goes. The person tuning is using HPtuners and has a nice 5.3 swapped Wrangler that might benefit from the advice.

It will be the next weekend when we finalize it.
