Hand-held tuner with aftermarket MAF
I have an 85mm slp maf, and have heard that the hand-held tuners will not work with it. Can I get an SLP custom tuned diablo tuner and make it work, or will none of them work period? I would just hate to waste my money if it won't work.

Correct me if I'm wrong but it should be fine because the SLP MAF has a resistor soldered into it. The resistor makes it read like a stock MAF to the computer, so you can use it in a stock tuned car. It should work with your hand held just like it would work with a stock car. If it was a stock Delphi 85mm MAF from a truck or something, it would not work properly.

So, if I am getting the idea, it would really be pointless to use the hand-held tuner for anything other than changing my speedo and tranny shift points for new gears and gettin my SES light to turn off for a while. I was hoping I would be able to tune the car as well, but if that is the case, it may be more prudent to just take it to a pro tuner.

Interesting.... I have an SLP MAF that came with my Z28 when i bought it, but I removed the resistor so I could get the full range. It didn't matter anyway since I was tuning the car at the time. Before I removed the resistor, it seemed like it was pretty dang close to stock, at least on my car it was...
