How would you swap a year 2001pcm in my 98C5 as the 98s stink for WOT shifting!

How would you swap a year 2001pcm in my 98C5 as the 98s stink for WOT shifting! Just thinking outloud here and was wondering what would be involved? Would this be as simple as putting in a newer model pcm and changing out the pcm wiring harness, etc.
The reason i ask is b/c the 98 A4 vettes are more difficult to tune via ls1 eidt concerning WOT tranny shift points, etc then the newer A4 vettes and just thinking about my options for the future if i can't get my tranny WOT shifting bugs squared away on my 98 A4 Roadster with its new 427 MTI built C5R now powering it.
