Default Simple timing question.

How much HP/TQ or ET gains do you commonly see when raising your timing from say 22* to 27*? is there a rule of thumb on this?

Thanks!

Really depends on your your entire engine set-up, especially the CR of your heads.

Many higher compression heads make more HP/TQ at 22 degrees of spark advance than 27 degrees.

If your need the additional cylinder pressure, bumping it from 22 to 27 makes sense. Finding the ideal AFR may bring you as much additional HP gain as spark.

Of course only a dyno will give you the correct answer for your individual set-up. 15-25 HP/TQ gain over your entire power curve would be a general answer to your question.

Best of luck.
