Default Who uses LS1edit with USB

What did you have to do to get it to work, just get a USB to serial port cable and then hook that cable to the regular LS1 edit serial port cable, or what?

Thanks,
Jordan

You will need a good usb cable. I bought one (Edgeport ) from B&B Electric at their suggestion. I use it for EFILive, mostly. Here is a linkEdgeport

I tried the UC232A adapter...it's JUNK and doesn't work. Actually tech sup at B&B said they couldn't believe they supplied it!!!

There has been a recent discussion, past 6 weeks, on ls1Edit.com-check the archives ->Archives

Good Luck.

I use the Keyspan USB <-> serial PDA adapter with no trouble. I have also used a cheap generic one built on the Prolific chip set successfully.

I used $30 adapter from bestbuy (forgot the brand, but it's the only one they have) and it worked like a charm on my bi-directional EFIlive, so shouldn't be an issue with LS1edit. $80 for a USB<->RS232 adapter is a rip-off, IMO.

I bought my usb to serial adapter from Radio Shack, under their own brand. I have used bi-directional controls in EFI Live 5 Pro, and v6, as well as LS1 Edit. No problems.
