Default Modded LS1 to LQ9 with same mods. New tune needed??

Hey everyone. I will be swapping from the LS1 shortblock to the LQ9 shortblock with the same heads, cam, & intake. The LS1 pcm has been tuned to these mods, but will I need to invest another $300 to tune it for the short block/18 cubes change? Granted I know the engine won't perform at its best with the same tune, but I wonder how the car would run with the same tune...

It will run, but it'll be off plenty. The compression of the engine will change, so will the cubic inches. You should at least have a way of monitoring it, but a tune should be done.
