Scanner wont read my car

Scanner wont read my car well my mechanic tried to scan my car with one of those really expensive snap on scanners and it wont read the car, which i find odd because it was scanned almost a year ago and it could read the codes, now all the scanner reads is "no response from module"

sometimes in an older car the wire that comes of the back of the ob conection can be damaged .. and no offence but lt1's are know for electical bugs so i check that out... and if it has been tuned already the computer tune maybe locked
