camshaft position sensor low voltage

The cam bolts backing out and the cam moving away from the pickup (sensor) has caused that code in more than one car that I have seen... Of course it could be a bad sensor or wiring, but unfortunately when I have seen it on non-swapped vehicles, it ended up being bolts.

it only started throwing the code along with hard starting after i did my long tube install this past weekend. It was starting just fine with no codes being thrown before the install.
but the very first time i go to start it, it takes like 10 seconds of cranking to start. and after it starts it acts just fine. as well as after it has warmed up it starts back up perfectly fine. could i have not connected something back up or broken a wire or a connection during the install?
