No you dont need to use Edit, I believe. I am not sure on our PCMs but my friend Dakota is running a FAST system, and that thing is nice. It sucks to setup appearantly if you have no baseline. But, if you do have a base its awesome. Instead of trying to figure out, or doing a bunch of math, where your timing is bein pulled or needs to be, you scroll across your logged run and it hilites it for you. As well as other things.

I have a FAST system on my car.
Here is the long answer:
-Yes you can put a FAST sytem on an LS1. I am running a bank to bank setup.
-Check with Cartek.net on the cost
-To run the FAST as a standalone, no factory pcm, you would need an external crank trigger.
-I am running a FAST with an adaptor box from Cartek. I am controlling fuel and VE thru the FAST, but not timing.
-FAST is coming out with a crank signal adaptor that will allow us to control timing thru the FAST system... which is the most ideal.
