Default Reverse lockout with SES?

So I was running a fuel system cleaning service at the shop I work.
This was on my 97 Z28 M6. After it was done, I get in the car to back it out of the bay when I noticed the SES light on. I tried to get the car in reverse but it locked it out. I turned the car off and on and tried again. Nope.
I grabbed my scanner and it showed some O2 sensor codes, cant remember exactly what they were. But I as soon as I cleared them the lockout solenoid started working again.
The car has been driving fine and for several days, no SES light or problems with the lockout solenoid.
Ive had the SES light come on in the past for various reasons, but it never locked reverse out.
Has anyone ever had that happen?

I bet both the o2 sonsors and the reverse lockout are on the same power circuit.

I've had that happen when I blow the engine sensor fuse. Clearing the code temporarily allowed easy access to reverse. However, reverse wasn't physically locked out, I just needed to exert a bit more force. to move it right.
