Question Which engine management?

I have a 5.3 with a LS6 intake, throttle body and injectors and I need assistance determining which computer and harness to use? I was going to go with painless and a 5.3 harness, but it doesnt control my injectors. I would have to change my pigtails, so I was thinking of using the LS1 management, but Im concerned with it getting too much fuel and not tuneable. Any suggestions?

Assume this is for a transplant? You can use the painless harness for the LS1 so you don't have to change the pigtails for the injectors. You can use any LS1 PCM and it can be tuned... not sure what you mean by "not tunable"...

When you go looking for a PCM, look for a part # 12200411 - they are the better ones...

Yes, its a GM part number. You can pick them up used from some of the tuning sponsors on here or junkyards. I was doing an 80 Z28 swap, but before I even got started, baby is coming, so I sold the car and dropped the project. The aftermarket harness route is expensive, but you are right, it will make it easier if you don't have the ability or desire to go through making your own... Yours is a 79 Z28 I assume from your screen name? You over on NastyZ28?
