Low speed surging after tune and cam install?
I just got a 226/230 112 cam installed and was hoping to have the idle set at 800rpm to give it a choppy sound. Once the car warmed up it kept stalling when coming to a stop due to bad surging. I went back and got the idle raised to 950rpm but it still nearly stalls sometimes when coming to a stop with the car surging between 500-1200rpm. Once stopped though it will idle fine after it finds idle, this is only happening about 0-10mph.
I did drill the throttle blade hole when putting the ported one on a while ago though. I will measure the hole once I get home.
I would just like to know any ideas because I really want my idle set back down to get the choppy sound, and better drivability/breaking. Thanks.

^^Take it back to the turner. I had a bigger cam then that with the same size stall and Dan @ Masport made my car idle beautifully at 800 rpm. Full throttle tunes are the easy part

Often surging is due to being lean, see if you can connect a WB and see if it is running lean at the time of surge.
If not, a bit lower timing. Remember idle is a delicate condition that you need to have the engine making only as much power as to keep it running, it should never be near MBT at idle. High idle timing will cause an unstable idle.
