Default pcm and harness questions

first off, let me say that if this is the wrong section, please forgive me and move it to the right section. next, heres my deal: soon i am purchasing a 98 ss clone. its a roller and i plan on doing a turbo 347 or 6.0 setup. it has the stock harness and ecu from 98 still in it. i heard these ecu's are bad for forced induction because they cant really understand anymore than 8 or so psi. now my question is so that i dont have to tear out the harness, can i get a newer ecu and run that with the 98 harness? maybe 2000-2002? or will i have to start from scratch? thanks much-J

You can use the harness you just have to repin the pcm connectors to the 99+ schematic. The info is around here somewhere. There is an issue getting the fuel gauge to work too but that info is also here somewhere.

its an easy swap actually.
Re pin your 98 engine harness to the 99 pinout standard for the fbody.
Pick up a 2002 0411 pcm.
there are a few ways to get the fuel gauge to work easly.
Enjoy!
I have doem this swap many times shoot me a pm if you have any questions.
