Default ETC scalar question

Recently bought a mail order tune and I've been becoming more and more familiar with all of the parameters in VCM Editor. One thing I've noticed that has been changed is the 'ETC area scalar', it's been reduced by about 4.5% from 3886 to 3775, however from what I've read the only need to mess with this parameter is if you swap TBs. My TB is stock as is the rest of my intake minus a k&n CAI.

Why would someone change this parameter on a stock vehicle and what impacts would it have to performance by making the area smaller?

Default

Only reason would be to make MAF , RAF and Dynamic airflow line up at idle.
