I need to replace an E38 ECM in a 2012 Corvette, and I have saved a stock HP Tune to install on the new ECM. I've learned enough to know that I cannot just use any E38 ECM; and I know I need a unit with a service code of 12633238, 2010-2012. I also know that all 12633238s won't work - the software version installed on the ECM may or may not be compatible with my tune - i.e. an E38 from a 2011 Sierra Truck will still have to be re-programmed at the dealer (TIS) before I can install the HP Tune on it. Which is challenging, because it's hard to get the car to the dealer when the ECM is non-functional, and the dealers I've called don't have programming harnesses.
The software version installed on a my 2012 (and which the HP Tune is based on) is 12647991. My question is: does anyone know of a chart which will show what softwares I will be able to install this tune on without having to have the ECM re-programmed at the dealer - i.e. if I bought a used unit from a salvage dealer? (EFI Live has a chart that only includes 2011 software, mine is not included)
