E85 mpgs. What are you guys getting?
What are you e85 guys getting for mpgs and whats your set up? Is your car tuned for mpgs as well as idle and WOT?
Im getting 9 mpg lol!
Set up
346
trex, 59cc 5.3s 42lbs
M6 4.30s
My Mpgs sucks. My car is not tuned other than to idle and WOT. We are going to tune it this week so I can get better mpgs. I also think I have a bad MAF but I might go SD since I want to go turbo down the road anyway.
Any tips on how to get the most mpgs from my car tuning wise?

Other than just a good tune? Probably not. As you're probably already aware, E85 is generally 20% LESS MPG than normal gasoline.
Just curious....why are you running E85 on a non FI engine?
I'm running Premium e10 in my FI fbody (everything is e10 here), and MIGHT choose to go e85 if it becomes more accessible here. The fuel system is already built for e85 and relatively high boost, so it's just being able to find e85 more easily that's the biggest problem for me....but I also don't drive the car very much, so MPG is not a factor. I also just run premium e10 in my ls swapped Miata, and will never change to anything else in that car.
If economy is a concern, e85 is probably not your best bet.

I'm with salemtro, what's the need for e85 in your car? If you're that worried abut MPGs then I don't think the extra 10-15hp that e85 is giving you would be worth it over a 93 setup.

I've been running e85 since 07. Was one of the first to run it. I do like that it runs cooler and has other benefits over gas. When we tuned my car, we just tuned it so it would idle and safe at WOT. There is still tuning left to do (lean cruise and such) and I have a bad maf that's why I was curious.

Keeping in mind that E85 has less BTU's than regular gasoline. Since it doesn't create the same heat, it requires more fuel to match the heat created by gasoline. So no matter what you do, you will never get the same MPG's as gasoline.

One is unleashed performance with a their shop car. (Site sponsor) the other is a guy with screen name skinnies. He says something like 15-16 with a 5.3 liter small cam in a Ford LTD. It may all be in the cam and gears.

I used to get 30mpg in my rx7 on a 3.9 rear gear. This was NOT with the rotary. The engine mods will hurt mpg a lot once you go so far but tuning the mid range will help a bit. The 4.3 rear is pretty big in hurting mpg. I'll be going to 3.73 here shortly once I get all my cobra rear end stuff in order.
