Tuning for a manual trans on a stock VVT LH9 with an E67?
I have a stock 2012 Colorado with a factory 5.3 (LH8). It has VVT and runs a E67 pcm.
I really enjoy the truck except for the automatic (4L60E). I would like to swap in a T-56. The install and wiring seem fairly straight forward as 4 cylinder Colorados had a manual trans option.
My concern is in the tuning.
A) There was no V-8/manual trans option in this model
B) As far as I can tell, GM keeps VVT for the automatic cars and loses the VVT on manual trans cars (example V-8 5th gen Camaro).
Will I be able to successfully run the VVT with a manual trans and keep some warranty and street manners?
This is my daily driver, and I do tow with it. The point isn't to attempt to make a race truck out of it.
I just want the fun factor and better MPG that the T-56 will provide.
