Default Security system checkup

Alright, yesterday i left my car windows down and locked the car, went home for a minute then came back and unlocked the car by moving the lock handle from inside the car(too lazy), not using the key.
So i put the key inside the ignition and i get a security light ? tried to start the car first two times, it didn't, third time it started, its a week now, the car is fine, but still the security light is on, tried disconnecting the battery but no use. Any help is appreciated, i hate that light ! Thanks in advance.

oh btw I drive a 98 A4 z28

Could be:
The key
The ignition switch to key contacts
The ignition switch wiring to the first connector (below driver side dash) (usually this or BCM)
The wiring from that connector to the BCM connector (highly unlikely)
The BCM

Well so its a malfunction ? not due to the fact that i opened the car from the inside? isn't there any other way to reset it ?
