Default PCM Help!

Hey guys I have a 24x ls2 out of a 06 Pontiac GTO and was wondering if the ls2 ecu will work with my ls1 since they both have the same size crank reluctor wheel or if I have to get one from a 99-01 camaro/trans am? Any help is apprecited.

2005-2006 GTO uses the E40 ECM...

it has the same 24x/1x crank/cam reluctors, but it won't work in the 1999-2002 F-car for several reasons:
- connectors are pinned different,
- E40 controls engine only (no transmission controls),
- other (related to VAT).

You can always tell by the color of the two 80-pin connectors on the wiring harness and written on the ECU. A blue/red harness will only work with blue/red ECM and a blue/green harness & ECM have to match.
