Default Wiring Accident. Help!

I was installing my custom engine harness. I needed to separate some of the harness bundling to get enough length to the crank sensor. I accidentally cut one of the crank sensor wires. I repaired the wire by splicing in a two inch piece of 18 guage wire, soldering it and heat shrinking the area. The original wire is about 22 guage which I didn't have available. Is the larger diameter wire going to throw off the sensors capability to deliver the proper message to the ECU?

No problem
If it was spliced correctly, it will work fine.

It's better to have no splices, but I have repaired quite a few this way and no problems.

Thanks for the reply. Wiring is still a bit of a mystery for me. Especially when an ECU is involved.
