Is 1050 too high of an idle?
Hello,
My Z28 idles at 1,050 all the time. Hot, cold, nuetral, it does not matter, it is always at 1050. It runs smooth and has no problems. I was just reading through this forum and it sounds like idle is supposed to be lower?
Is this something I need to change, or "if it ain't broke, don't fix it?"
Would someone have had to of messed with the tuning to make it idle this high?
Thanks, and sorry if this is a dumb question.

Have you verified with a scanning tool? It's possible your Tach is off (almost probable, actually). If it is indeed 1050 then you probably have a vacuum leak somewhere. If that checks out OK then inspect your IAC motor, perhaps it's stuck open.
